Understanding and practicing the structure and composition of worship is an essential task in pastoral ministry. This article attempts to analyze the paradigms given in the historical development of worship structure and composition, and furthermore presents practical tasks of pastoral ministry that must be undertaken in the reality of worship in our time. The transformative structure of worship confronts the various practical challenges of contemporary worship. Worshippers in our time are faced with a variety of realities, such as being overly sensitive to cultural acceptance in order to actively participate in worship, the weakening of traditional worship structure under the influence of contemporary praise and worship, the phenomenon of celebrity worship due to the initiative of entertainment, and even efforts to restore tradition. In this complex reality of worship practice, it is necessary not to be confined by the limitations of modernism, but to clearly present the direction of worship composition, to continue the structure and rhythm of time, to strive for the reflection of ecclesiology through worship practice, and to strive to embody pastoral discernment that can flexibly accommodate the flow of worship. With a clear understanding and conviction of the structure and composition of worship, the centrality of public worship must be maintained, and the practice of strengthening the relationship between God and worshippers and toward communality must be continued. In this way, the task of embodying the essence of the structure and composition of worship in each community can be accomplished in the initiative of the Holy Spirit to bring about discernment on the part of the pastor.
