In this study, the focus is on analyzing Peter’s sermon in Acts 2 and how it can be applied to modern sermons to overcome the crisis in the Korean church pulpit. The message Peter conveyed in his sermon emphasized the crucifixion, resurrection, and second coming of Jesus Christ, and how his death served as a substitution for the sins of mankind. The result of Peter’s sermon was a remarkable revival, which saw 3,000 people saved through repentance. By analyzing Peter’s message through the lens of expository preaching, the aim is to restore the same level of revival in the modern church that was seen in the early church. One significant aspect of Peter’s sermon was its Christ-centered focus, which interpreted the theological meaning behind Jesus’ Lordship and his death and resurrection as the core of the gospel. In contrast, the crisis in the modern church pulpit is often approached from an audience-centered perspective. Therefore, the suggestion is to graft the principles and framework of Peter’s sermon onto the Korean church pulpit to overcome this crisis. By employing a text-led application and interpretation faithful to the text, it is believed that the same level of revival experienced in the early church can be replicated in the modern church.
