Preachers are asked to change the contents and style of their sermons from the audience according to the times. Preacher can have more effective communication with their audience by considering the changing preaching situation. However, to consider the audience excessively makes the meaning of the text distorted. Preachers and churches that respond to the needs of the times need to examine what they’re doing from a biblical point of view. Because the Bible has a clear and specific message for the preacher and people of God about how they should do. Preachers should have their own firm preaching theology deliver the Word of God. Mark E. Dever’s theology presents some ideas about the ideal content of the sermon and how the church community should be. He suggested to examine the modern churches whether it is ‘biblical’ by the standard from Bible and applied the doctrine that the apostles taught to their community to the field of modern ministry. In this thesis, the researcher will consider Dever’s theology for preaching, which emphasizes church restoration according to the teachings of the Bible, by dividing it into sermons as the Word of God, theology as sermon content, and sermons for the application of 9Marks. First, based on Dever’s thorough view of the Bible, researcher will present a Bible-centered preaching theology from the essence of God and look at theology as a sermon by dividing it into Baptist covenant theology, church as a covenant community, and 9 Marks. Finally, in order to apply Dever’s preaching theology practically to the church, the researcher will consider the position of preaching for modern church. The early Christian community in the Bible is likely to be treated insignificant in post-modern era, which favors diversity. Regardless of this atmosphere, the researcher hope the preaching theology based on the Bible to be an alternative for maturing church community spiritually by the contents of unified sermons.
